Continuing the action of helping the flood-stricken regions, Delta Holding has decided to renovate one street in Obrenovac, the town which was hardest hit by the natural disaster in Serbia in May.
After visiting potential locations and talking to a large number of people we have decided to help the residents of Save Kovacevica Street in Obrenovac. On this location we will renovate or rebuild 17 residential buildings. Those family houses belong to elderly people from Obrenovac – the oldest one was built in 1920 while most of them were built at the beginning of the 1970s.
Through its Delta Foundation Delta Holding will bear all costs of building four houses and rebuilding thirteen damaged residential buildings in this street. Delta Foundation has engaged construction companies and is supervising the work in order to hand over the houses to their owners after the completion of building or rebuilding.
Works on relieving damage caused by floods will begin on Monday, 4th August and the completion of works is planned for the beginning of October.
We would like to use this opportunity to send once again our encouragement and support to the people from Obrenovac and all other regions hit by the floods. Our action serves to show all compatriots in trouble that they are not alone and that in these hard times they can count on being helped by neighbours, friends and their country.
In order to relieve the consequences of the floods Delta has donated 862.000 euros, including the renovation of Save Kovacevica Street. During the first few weeks we donated drinking water, clothes, footwear and other necessary things. In the second stage we donated 190 tons of fodder to 7 municipalities in Serbia. These days we have been building two and renovating 13 houses of Delta employees which have also been hit by the floods (in Obrenovac, Jagodina and Kolari), while 14 colleagues have received money for renovating their houses.
